Technology and social networking
I think our society has conformed to the idea that technology rules a great part of our lives. Unfortunately its getting to the point where employers are actually scouting out perspective employees to see if the content on their facebook is appropriate for a career. Additionally professors want to remove powerpoints from lecture halls and would rather engage in discussion. Although it seems like a plausible idea, how can you have a discussion in a classroom full of 400+ students? Seems pretty impossible to me. On the contrary others believe technologies such as the cellphone should be incorporated into teaching and will better the quality of ones education because we are so dependent on things like that. My view is that cellphones could be incorporated into the system and should benefit the learning experience, however, if it is used excessively it would draw attention away from real life applications because in the real world when we have jobs, we can't turn to our cellphones to do tasks or handle business, that comes from being in a classroom and engaging in discussions and learning from the professors.
