Life is HARD

Spring break turned out to be a time period in which world chaos effected millions and this suffering did not just stay in foreign lands, there were aftershocks in my life as well. The day following the earth shattering news of Japan my boyfriend and his family received heart breaking news. After surgery on his mother's lungs, a surgery to cure the stage Ia cancer the doctors diagnosed the health care physicians changed their prognosis. My boyfriend's mother Amanda, my "second momma" got the news of stage IV non small cell lung cancer. They followed the news by saying she has 6 months to 3 years to live. Amanda is a non-smoker, 39 years old, a mother and a wife. My boyfriend's reaction was anger, mine was tears. How could this death sentence be given to her? So unfair, so tragic, so unjust. Just like the Japanese citizens, this horrific event was out of her control and in Gods. When tragedy happens the only thing I have learned to do is move along. The All-American Reject song "Move Along" helps me to pick up, breathe and carry on. I pray for the Japanese victims and Amanda everyday.
