U.S. 1100

I personally do not look foward to this class, but I also do not think the class is a waste of time. I do enjoy the fact that I do not have homework from this class , because that would just add onto my load I have already. I figured it is a required course that I can not get out of what so ever, so therefore I try to make the best of it. I liked the possible activities my intructor through out to the class although. I think those activites would help the freshman students on campus (like myself) get more social, not only with other freshman students, but with students of different classifications. On a scale one to ten, I feel this class will be an overall 8 of enjoyment and learning about the campus.

U.S.?

University Seminar? Hmmm, I'm not sure what to think about this class. I'm trying to stay open minded about the experience and give it a chance however it kind of seems to me like TX State wants to keep me busy. Or that they figure that maybe I don't have enough on my plate and I need to learn how to make a wallet from duct tape or it's an experience of a life time to take a glass bottom boat tour.

What does anyone else think about this class? Do you all have any questions at all about why we have to take this now and why graduates 25 years ago didn't and they still managed to get by just fine without it.

LGBTQ Allies

is such a cool idea! My friend and I are hopefully going to go to the training that's being held on February 26th. I think its really cool that you support that and have that listed as one of the assignments we can chose from! I think everyone coming together in our community to show that LGBTQ people are the exact same as straight people and have our full support is a beautiful concept. To love and be loved is a beautiful concept and no one should ever feel wrong about that. Life's too short to be told who to love.

So, very cool that you offer training day for LGBTQ Allies as an assignment. I hope my friend and I get to be apart of a very cool and beautiful experience. Thanks.

Fresh Start!

The way i like to look at a new semester is a new start. all my classes this semester are great! my goal this semester is to get A's an B's. not hard but its just going to take time and work. this semester i am seeing alot of people around that i never saw last semester but thats a good thing to have our campus grow. so far everything is going great my most exciting classes this semester are going to be Scuba diving and University Seminar!

Recycling @ TXSTATE

While dining at Jones Hall today I realized the lack recycling happening. My boyfriend attends University of Houston which has been first among Texas schools on sustainability and there are vast differences when comparing just the common dining halls at our universities. UH even has a separate web page for recycling which is an awesome resource for all who wish to go green. I would encourage all of you to view it! http://www.uh.edu/af/greenUH/ I think that Texas State needs to start initiating programs! The money raised from recycling at UH fuels costs for a number of projects every year. They hold themselves accountable for their carbon footprint and I have yet to see the same accountability here at Texas State, The Rising Star of Texas.

Just for the record

Why didn't we just set up a group on facebook instead of this? I'm going to assume that, most, if not all of us, have FB profiles. It would have saved me 5 minutes and a blog profile I'm not likely to use after I complete US1100.

Ok, off to a good start...

Just making sure I'm doing this correctly.

Getting back on track

As this week begins to wrap itself up, I have realized that there is a lot of organization and catching up that I need to do. I had to switch rooms due to problems with my other roommate so now I need to catch up on those days where I didn't do homework. Time to get back on track
