Read the handout that Kelly gave us last week at the end of class and I liked the story. The reading I thought made a lot of sense because it hints towards a lot of stereotypical norms that our society has placed on both men and women.

I've been on the receiving end of negative comments because I did or said something that wasn't what a "guy" or a "man" is suppose to do or say. Then again I've also been guilty of doing the same thing to friends and family. It's like a type of programming we all go through and conform to and it does limit us in ways that baby "X" wasn't held back by. X was capable doing and performing tasks better than any one gender and was happier too.

Almost as unrealistic as the story may seem I went to high school with a couple of girls that played football. The same for the last three and a half years has had one of the first boys on their dance team and they are ranked as one of the best performing schools in the state. So sometimes it take someone brave and confident to just step forward and do what makes them happy and not care what others have to say. I think I summed up the story to say to me that I should live my life for me and not for others. That I limit myself only if I allow it to happen.

See everyone Friday for the presentation.
